Title:  ECS Weapons Based Instructor
JON: 2457

Homeland Security Solutions, Inc.(HSSI)  is seeking qualified Weapons Based Instructors to perform formal classroom and live-fire range instruction in support of the Department of the Navy, Center for Security Forces (CENSECFOR) Expeditionary Combat Skills (ECS) training courses at Gulfport, MS.  The ECS course provides basic combat skills to individuals attached to units within the Navy Expeditionary Combat Command (NECC) and Naval Special Warfare (NSW) organizations. ECS Weapons Based Instructors will deliver a wide variety of training topics, as well as providing instructional and safety support for live-fire weapons training.   All ECS Weapons Based Instructors must be familiar with the M9 Service Pistol and M4 Carbine and capable of achieving and maintaining a “Sharpshooter” qualification score. 
 

Responsibilities

1) Provide classroom and laboratory instructions to NECC and NSW personnel in the following Course of Instructions (COIs,) Basic Expeditionary First Aid, Don and wear individual Combat Equipment (ICE) and CBR gear, function safely in a field and CBRNE environment, learn basic Land Navigation, understand basic radio communications procedures and reports, understand Counter-Improvised Explosive Devices (C-IED)
2) Provide instructional, operations and safety support for live fire weapons training, missions and ammunition handling
3) Provide practical demonstration techniques with both primary and secondary weapons
4) Provide practical demonstration techniques with the psycho/physiological effects induced during deadly force or life threatening confrontations
5) Adhere and maintain strict academic standards per the approved course master schedule
6) Provide instructional and practical remediation to students when required
7) Prepare classrooms, ranges, labs and maintain a professional learning environment
8) Deliver equipment & course material (Government Provided) for instructional and laboratory delivery of curriculum
9) Conduct eight (8) hours training day, (early morning, evening, or night shift) five (5) days a week for the length of the course (Daily activity may extend up to 12 hours if required to meet all training objectives outlined in the curriculum)
10) Maintain proper dress code and grooming standards
11) Promote a cohesive team environment to reach the customer mission requirements.

 

Qualifications

1) A minimum of two (2) years’ documented tactical military operational experience in:  Basic Tactical Communications, Convoy Operations - Basic, Small Arms, Tactical Shooting, Counter Improvised Explosive Devices (C-IED), Mission Planning, Basic Tactical Movement, Basic CBRNE Procedures; and Tactical Decision Making (Shoot/Don’t Shoot)

2) Possess knowledge of basic and advanced training techniques

3) Possess knowledge of computer technology application as it applies to instructional presentation and the use of classroom training aids

4) Possess 2 years of experience as an instructor delivering training

5) Possess above average communication skills and the ability to comprehend both verbal and written instructions

6) Have attended the Navy Instructor Training Course (NITC) (A-012-0077) (or military service equivalent)

7) Possess Academic credentialing (teacher/professor)

8) Possess Instructor training via an academic institution. Academic ITC requirements should contain at a minimum, these Learning Objectives:  (a) Effective communication and questioning techniques; (b) Adult learning theory and       principles; (c) Instructional Delivery methods; (d) Lesson delivery performance laboratory; (e) Training environment management; (f) Inter-personal skills; (g) Evaluation and Feedback (e.g. Tidewater Community College, MILT 5100)

9) Possess a minimum of 2 years’ experience in delivering weapons-based courses-of-instruction which include live-fire training, and possess/be capable of demonstrating modern dynamic combat shooting skills

10) Completed one of the small arms instructor courses listed in paragraph 11 of OPNAVINST 3591.1F (Small Arms Training and Qualification

11) Re-qualify at least every 180 days on the courses of fire and with the type of weapons instructed

12) Complete the applicable Personnel Qualification Standards (PQS) for Line Coach (Small Arms) as contained in the Security Force Weapons PQS (NAVEDTRA 43466-C) within 90-days of hire

13) [Required for RSO] Complete the applicable Personnel Qualification Standards (PQS) for Range Safety Officer (RSO) as contained in the Security Force Weapons PQS (NAVEDTRA 43466-C)

14) Must possess a valid Drivers’ License

15) [Highly Desired] Ability to obtain and maintain certification to operate commercial 44- and/or 36-passenger buses in accordance with NAVFAC P300

17) Effectively complete weapons qualifications in the standing, kneeling and prone positions, ascend or descend ladders and go through narrow passageways, and be free of any abnormal fear of height
