Job Description
This position will assist faculty members, visiting scientists and graduate students in the Hampton Roads AREC Integrative Microbiology group in their lab and field projects, including lab routines, research plant maintenance, project set-up, data collection and entry into computer files, clean-up and disinfesting tools and work bench surface after each study is done, and autoclave used plants and materials before disposal, etc. This is a part-time, off-campus position at the Hampton Roads AREC, located in Virginia Beach, Virginia
Required Qualifications
Knowledge in biology, horticulture, and previous experience in data collection and entry, Microsoft Office, Ability to drive and possess an acceptable driving history and criminal background check. Must have access to a vehicle which may be required occasionally in the course of work.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge and experience in microbiology, research planning, and attention to details.
