Job Description

Duration:  6+ months

Shift Timings:  08:00 am to 05:00 pm

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Candidate must be able to apply and adapt established accounting methods to a variety of
  • financial transactions and adhere to state and federal funding written policies at the direction of
  • the supervisor.
  • The desired candidate will develop and prepare financial reports with minimal
  • supervision.
  • They will possess excellent communication skills to effectively share financial
  • information clearly with a multidisciplinary group of stakeholders.
  • They will be responsible for federal awards which will require budget monitoring, reporting, accounting, sub-recipient
  • compliance, sub-recipient monitoring, and disbursements, processing of vouchers, interpreting
  • Adhering to MOAS terms and scope of services, and provision of technical assistance to
  • partner with agencies to ensure compliance for sub-recipient agencies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • The Grant Accountant must work independently to:
  • Collect and report to stakeholders all financial transactions on federal grants;
  • Ensure all financial documents are completed with correct codes, posted, reconciled and expended within grant and state timeframes;
  • Correct financial documents that do not comply with current policies and donor stipulations;
  • Implement procedures for improved audit trails;
  • Discuss budget and accounting matters with counterparts timely;
  • Accurately track budget expenditures;
  • Meet regularly with stakeholders to discuss grant implementation plans;
  • Provide in-person technical assistance to sub-recipients;
  • Routinely perform an-person audits of sub-recipients;
  • Submit accurate, on-time sub-recipient reporting;
  • Ensure all federal Srant requirements and agency policies are met, and provide administrative support to a variety of federal grants including reporting and research for additional funding.
  • The Grant Accountant will report to the Senior Accountant and provide routine updates on successes or concerns in time to take corrective actions with state and grant reporting deadlines.
  • Candidate must be proficient in database, spreadsheet, and word processing applications and successfully pass a placement test demonstrating a minimum intermediate skill level in Microsoft
  • office applications and possess working knowledge of how to apply Generally Acceptable Accounting Principles.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and/or relevant work experience of the rest five (5) years.
  • Intermediate or higher level of computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Federal Grant audit and/or financial management experience required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, bilingual is a plus.
  • Grant administration experience preferred.

Computer software to be used:

  • All Microsoft Office Suite programs, and various databases - must have a high degree of computer application aptitude and experience to be considered.

Equipment to be used:

  • All office equipment, all work are completed using a computer.
