Job Summary

The Small Equipment Operator is primarily responsible for the operation of a small forklift; also responsible for moving materials to and from warehouse storage; and packing materials for shipping.

Essential Functions

  • Actively supports the Company's commitment to safety and its "Core Values."
  • Represents the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company's "Code of Business Conduct and Ethics."
  • Understands how to safely pack items in crates for outgoing shipments.
  • Understands how to safely load/unload truckloads of incoming/outgoing materials.
  • Must be able to safely band materials for shipments on truck.
  • Acts as helper/spotter for the Shuttle Operator.
  • Experience and knowledge operating a Small Forklift.
  • Paperwork is highly accurate with minimal errors.
  • Follows prescribed safety standards and regulations.
  • Perform all other job-related duties as requested by supervision.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience

  • Prior related experience and/or training in a fabrication or machine shop environment.
  • Ability to operate tools and equipment applicable to position.
  • Working knowledge of basic hand tools.
  • Certification and ability to operate Small Forklift.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to interact and communicate well with others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Obtain and maintain an active status within the drug testing program.
  • Work involves standing and walking for extended periods of time. Work may include frequent bending, kneeling, and stooping and occasional climbing on to equipment and/or trailers.
  • Work may include occasional pushing, pulling, or carrying objects weighing a minimum of 35 pounds to a maximum of 50 pounds, with assistance, such as raw or fabricated material, equipment, or tools.
  • Occasional overtime may be required to ensure project deadlines are met.
