Overview

As an Employee Relations Specialist, you will be responsible for coaching and collaborating with employees and management to maintain positive working relationships, identify and mitigate employment risks while fostering a culture of respect, inclusion, fairness and equity.

YOUR IMPACT

The essential functions of this position include:

  • Coach and provide guidance to all employees to ensure they understand and are adhering to company policies and are operating in alignment to the business needs and strategic goals of the company.
  • Consult managers in employee coaching, counseling, performance monitoring and evaluation, employment laws and company policies.
  • Own the resolution of first level employee relations issues, which includes performance management challenges, workplace disputes, timely internal investigations; writing clear, concise, accurate investigation reports of findings and proposed remedial actions.
  • Independently manage assigned casework, bringing disciplinary actions and investigations to closure rapidly and definitively.
  • May conduct and record Exit Interviews.
  • Assist in analyzing programs, policies, and best practices. Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships and build morale, to increase productivity and retention.
  • Stay current in state, federal and local employment laws, ensuring the company, management and employees are complying and to reduce risk. Comply with record-keeping requirements.
  • Assist in identifying deficiencies, training opportunities, and talent issues. Work closely with leaders and employees for an effective outcome.
  • Make recommendations to enhance employee engagement and experience.
  • Assist with education and awareness efforts and answering questions regarding Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Work on day-to-day administration activities related to team efforts/projects and Employee Relations policies and procedures. Assist in adverse impact analyses, report preparation and tracking.
  • Performs other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 1 year of experience working in human resources as a business partner, generalist, or compliance capacity.
  • Experience in conducting investigations regarding employee complaints, conflicts or disciplinary matters and performance improvement.
  • BA in Human Resources or related discipline, or comparable work experience.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws. The ability to interpret and apply human resources concepts and best practices to employment law areas such as Title VII, FLSA, EEOC, ADA, and FMLA.
  • This position requires exceptional attention to detail, critical thinking, empathy, facilitation, mediation, objectivity and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills - ability to interact and relate to individuals of diverse disabilities and backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated emotional intelligence; ability to set effective boundaries.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to apply discretion and sound judgment in managing processes, outcome recommendations and handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point, with the ability to quickly learn other programs and software used by the Company.
  • Proficient at multi-tasking, meeting deadlines and adapting to changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Minimum travel to various offices may be required.
POSITION SPECIFICS

The base salary range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $31.25 and $36.06 hourly; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including commissions and discretionary bonuses, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
