Senior Middleware Architect - Dell Inc.

Dell Inc. is a worldwide provider of information technology solutions to a broad range of clients. We are currently looking for a Senior Middleware Architect to join our team in Herndon, VA.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will work in a client-facing role and be involved at all levels of decision making related to middleware, as well as representing Dell in the client’s team and process integration initiatives.
  • Assist client with process integration planning and execution.
  • Serve as a Sr. Technical Architect understanding large scale global integration platforms and key design components of an Enterprise Application Integration and Enterprise Service Business.
  • Serve as a senior team member supporting initiatives in the integration shared service domain directly involved technology discussions and process integration, providing first-line support for design and advice.
  • Understand various enterprise integration patterns including frameworks, metadata management, business process management, and SOA software design principles.
  • Create the conceptual architecture of the design and clearly describe the rationale for decisions and implications of decisions.
  • Develop strong interpersonal alliances with client and application development, and infrastructure support teams. Establish credibility and respect with others; convince/influence others to embrace a position or take a specific course of action.
  • Relationship management to align integration assets and capabilities to business needs.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and openness to new ideas and to change, and adapt to change.

    Required Skills:
  • 7-10 years of progressive experience with middleware and products such as Tuxedo, Weblogic, and Oracle Application Server.
  • Technically sound with Java/J2EE, and C.
  • Understands large scale global integration platforms and key design components of an Enterprise Application Integration and Enterprise Service Business.
  • Extensive SOA experience, including the application of emerging SOA trends, technologies & methods. Extensive experience with integration technologies.
  • Extensive experience with XML related standards and technologies (Xpath, Xquery, XSD, DTD, XBRL).
  • Expertise with Web services, SOA ,including RESTful, SOAP, WSDL principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey technical and non-technical information and ideas through a variety of formats.

    Minimum Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience.
